Dr. Matt Miller #1

Since his childhood growing up in New England, Dr. Miller wanted to someday be a veterinarian but took a rather roundabout route – the common theme that has guided his path was a strong desire to improve the lives of people and animals. After college he spent seven years in social work as a Residential Counselor in a group home assisting adults with mental illness before returning to school for an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology and becoming a CVT in 2011. He then worked as a Veterinary Technician for seven years in emergency, small animal general practice and with avians and exotics before attending veterinary school at Midwestern University here in Arizona.

His interests include pain management, wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging with a special interest in ultrasound and its application in point-of-care diagnostics. He believes that learning is a lifelong process and is committed to becoming the best doctor that he can be.

Dr. Miller is passionate about doing his best to make a difference in the lives of the people and pets he serves here in our communities around Crossroads Veterinary Hospital. He also firmly considers a positive work environment to be a top priority and believes that kindness and mutual respect are critical to fostering a healthy culture: He’s delighted to have found a fantastic team at Crossroads that exemplifies these ideals to better deliver great patient and client care, and also to make it a pleasure to come to the office each day.

A lifelong New Englander until moving to the Valley in 2018, Dr. Miller is thrilled to have put down roots in sunny Arizona and hopes to never shovel another driveway of snow. He enjoys relaxing in his free time with his amazing wife and their three cats, reading by (or in) a pool, hiking, attending live music, having great conversations around a fire table with friends, and discovering new breweries and craft beers (especially sours, NEIPAs, and stouts).
